Lead Journeyman Electrician

📍 Charlotte, MI 🕐 Full-Time 📅 Posted July 8, 2026 🏢 In Person
Pay Range
$38 to $45 / hr

The Role

We are looking for a self-driven, team-oriented Lead Journeyman Electrician to handle electrical and telecommunications installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance in complex commercial and industrial settings. You will also lead and mentor apprentice electricians and helpers.

What You Will Do

  • Install, repair, and troubleshoot electrical and telecommunications systems to National Electric Code
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and mentoring to apprentice electricians
  • Travel to customer locations for complex industrial and commercial projects
  • Perform work in construction, service, and low voltage system scenarios
  • Bend and install conduit, install lighting, and set up basic control systems
  • Perform wire and cable pulls
  • Install motor feeders and make standard motor connections
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, customer safety requirements, and company policies
  • Participate in safety talks, audits, and related safety activities
  • Identify, correct, and report any unsafe acts, conditions, or incidents
  • Work independently without direct supervision and support apprentices
  • Keep job sites, tools, and vehicles clean and maintained

What You Bring

  • Active State of Michigan Journeyman electrical license
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Strong knowledge of the most recent National Electrical Code
  • Experience with industrial and commercial electrical and telecommunications systems
  • Skilled at reading blueprints and electrical schematics
  • Mechanical and technical aptitude, with a passion for teaching others
  • Experience leading and mentoring apprentice electricians
  • Track record of completing projects on time, on budget, and to code
  • Solid planning, organizing, time management, and problem solving skills
  • Self-driven, reliable, able to work independently under pressure
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration with peers and leaders
  • Ability to travel regionally, work overtime, and occasionally on weekends
  • Ability to work in varied weather conditions and at elevated heights
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
  • Focus on safety, quality, customer service, and honesty and integrity

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. In person, at the shop and on job sites throughout Michigan.

The Role

An established Charlotte, MI electrical company is looking for an Electrical Apprentice to assist with installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance in commercial and industrial settings under the guidance of a Journeyman Electrician.

What We Are Looking For

  • One year of electrical experience is preferred, but not required
  • Reliable and willing to learn
  • Hands-on ability and initiative
  • Prior experience in another trade is a plus

Training and education will be provided. Growth within the company is encouraged.

Schedule

Eight hour day shift, Monday to Friday. Overtime, on-call, and occasional weekends as needed. Year round work.
